NextStage Consulting was founded with the belief that the continuous
digitalization of healthcare has the potential to significantly improve the quality and accessibility of health services to millions of patients globally.
Working together with stakeholders along the patient journey, we empower companies and organizations to assume their role in pushing this transformation forward.
Our ultimate aim is to unlock digital health’s full potential to improve health outcomes and lay the foundation for commercially viable business models.
“The application of digital health to improve the health of populations remains largely untapped, and there is immense scope for use of digital health solutions.”
— World Health Organization
What we do
Digital health is a dynamic industry with high exit rates for young companies; empirical data shows up to 90% of start-ups in the health & medical field failing within the first five years.
In order to be successful, digital health solutions need to be effective, user-friendly and engaging whilst also delivering superior value for money compared to pre-existing alternatives.
Our core offerings provide hands-on support along four critical dimensions to unlock and grow the success of digital health solutions:
Determine Efficacy
The primary aim of every digital health solution should be to achieve a positive impact on patient and user outcomes. Empirical evidence published in peer-reviewed journals remains the gold standard to demonstrate efficacy. Building this evidence base is a fundamental requirement for growing acceptance and confidence amongst patients, health care professionals and payers for a given digital health solution.
-
Evaluation of guideline compliance
Study design and execution support
Data analysis and scientific publication
Research Usability
The majority of users consider ease of use to be the most important quality for a digital application. Solution providers must therefore ensure that their user interface and general feature set do not create barriers to effective usage. Special attention should be given to ensure accessibility and inclusiveness for all user groups.
-
Heuristics evaluation
Focus groups and interviews
Conduct user surveys
Improve Engagement
Securing user engagement and long-term retention is a great challenge for many digital health solutions. Gamification is a valuable tool to make solutions more engaging by adding game elements to a non-game context. The aim is to grow user motivation, self-efficacy and thereby promote consistent, long-term use of digital health solutions.
-
Expert gamification assessment
Evaluation of best practice adherence
Implementation roadmaps
Communicate Value
Digital health solutions exist in a crowded space of competition and must provide superior value for money to be commercially successful. Especially investors and payers place great emphasis on securing a greater ROI compared to both digital and non-digital alternatives. Developing a payer value story summarizing such value arguments is a success-proven method to effectively communicate the value of digital health solutions.
-
Research pharmacoeconomic evidence
Calculate business cases
Create payer value stories
